Privacy

Speedready for iPhone, iPad, Android, the web and Linux. Last updated 1 October 2026.

In short

Speedready collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Nothing you read, look up or mark ever leaves your device.

What stays on your device

Deleting the app deletes all of it. When you export your vocabulary for Anki, the file goes only where you choose to save or share it.

Connections

The German to Portuguese dictionary and the starter book are built in. When you read in another language pair, the app downloads that pair's dictionary once from our public dictionary site (cyoren.github.io) and keeps it on your device; the request names only the language pair, nothing about you or your book. On the web, your browser downloads the reader once from this website, which does not set cookies or record who you are. Read-aloud uses the voice already installed on your device. Only if you tap a dictionary or source link does your browser open that outside website, under its own privacy policy.

Children

Speedready collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
